Our Partners & Friends in Conservation

At BECC, we believe progress is rooted in collaboration. Our work — from food waste diversion to climate resilience and sustainable land use — is made stronger by the organizations we partner with directly in programs and initiatives.

But we also recognize the importance of a wider circle. Alongside our active partners, we highlight local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups we consider friends of the environment — allies who share our values and commitment to protecting the places we call home.

Together, these networks of partnership and friendship help us drive meaningful change in Boonville, the Black River Valley, and across New York State.

BECC's Core Collaborators

Village of Boonville Conservation Advisory Council

Under NYS Municipal Law Article 12-F, municipalities are empowered to establish Conservation Advisory Councils to guide local environmental decision-making, and since 1972 BECC leadership proudly fulfills this role for the Village of Boonville.

Appointed by the village board, our council provides expert advice on sustainable development, conservation, and natural resource management, including maintaining a comprehensive Natural Resource Inventory and reviewing development proposals for environmental impact.

By aligning our efforts with the guidelines set forth in 12-F, BECC ensures that local land use and environmental policies reflect the community’s commitment to preserving Boonville’s natural heritage for future generations.
